The False Cut Force

The Effect
The magician asks the spectator to cut the deck and look at the card cut to, but the spectator is actually looking at the original top card of the deck.
How It's Done
First memorize the top card of the deck. Next ask the spectator to cut the deck, immediately place the original bottom half of the deck on top of the top half that the spectator cut, except put it perpendicular, making a cross with the two halves of the deck. Next make eye contact with the spectator and make some comment in order to take his/her mind off of the order of the two halves. Next point to the card on top of the bottom half, and ask the spectator to look at the card he/she cut to. As you might have guessed, this is the original top card of the deck, but the spectator will likely believe that this is the card he/she cut to.
